Need a Ride?

Yey to me! I just got my driver’s license driver’s learner’s permit! So I can start driving around now, of course accompanied by a licensed expereinced driver, and other restrictions. I have tried driving already, just hours after i got my permit.

I’m still a little bit disorganized at the road. Being used to driving at the other side of the road in Japan, I felt so conscious with which lane I’m supposed to be in, that I felt like I have to check and re-check the lanes to make sure, I’m not in the wrong one. And turning the signal lights take so much effort since I am used to doing it with my right hand. Now I have to do it with my left hand since the ‘control’ is at the let side of the steering wheel.

Next stop, get scheduled for a road test.

Also, hubby bought a golf cart, very useful to go around the campus. He is so happy about his new toy, and still so greedy to let me drive it. Which is ironic, because he lets me drive his car in the highway, but he’s so hesitant to let me drive the golf cart that only goes around 18mph at maximum. The summer school has ended and school starts again in less than 2-weeks, enough time to test drive his golf cart and get it ready for the next school year.

I have mentioned before that Matthew started driving his John Deere tractor. He has been more and more used to playing/driving his tractor. He still needs practice holding the steering wheel and make turns but he’s really having fun. However, to date, this has been the his most tiresome activity for me.

  1. Congratulations to you on your learners permit!!!

  2. good luck on the driving. I’m sure it will take a while before you get used to driving on the right side.

  3. Oh this is too cute. & How appropriate to have a video of Matthew’s driving with the blog you wrote about your getting the lerner’s permit! Hmmmmmm now why is it, we aren’t seeing a video of YOU Mamma, driving the golf cart!!! I’ll have to video you next time we visit…. & post that one to compare your driving skills in the cart, to Matthew’s in his John Deere! lol I just hope you don’t bump into as many things as he does! Fun stuff as always you are so interesting on Blog! I look fwd to hearing more about both of your driving skill progress! Hugs Lori & Crew
