ALOHA FRIDAY
What profession(s) would you NOT like to do?
I am such a fan of CSI Drama Series, from the CSI Original (Las Vegas) to CSI: Miami to New York. (Although I haven’t really followed CSI: New York). At one point, I thought I’d be fun to work in the field of forensics, investigating and analyzing crimes, and of course solving them. But then I realized that working in this field means dealing with lots of dead people. Just the thought of that makes me … disapprove.
At first, my excuse for not wanting to be a doctor or a nurse was that studying to be one means carrying books that were heavier than me. After a conversation with a friend who pursued a career in the field of medicine, my excuse just got extended exponentially. I was just so glad I wasn’t studying in the medical field or I would have flunked so terribly, because, well, half the time studying in the field of medicine happened in laboratories inspecting and studying corpse. And there were times, according to this friend, that she had lunch with her lab partner at the same table where the corpse is lying. That really threw me off, I could never do that. She did mention though that all the corpse she studied had their faces covered, and she was never tempted to peek.
Funerals are not a problem with me. I can glance at a dead person. (May she or he rest in peace). But don’t make me stare, smell or touch a corpse! So there. I don’t like any profession that has so many dealings with a corpse. So my choices for profession exclude the field forensics, medicine, coroner, etc.
Also, I will not consider working as a handler of snakes or any exotic or zoo animals. I’m too chicken to handle these types of animals. Come to think of it, I’ve never even had a pet.
This question is from Inside the Actor’s Studio. Interesting Funtrivia:

-
Angelina Jolie answered with anything that is the same every single day and have her lock in small space.

Ummm….I would NOT want to be a garbage collector. I think I would puke from the stink every day!
I am SOOO with you about not wanting to touch the dead guy….or girl…or …
Oh wow – there are a few I wouldn’t want to do! The top of my list would definitely have to be anything dealing with dead people! I just wouldn’t be able to handle it!
Happy Weekend!
Jennifer
I wouldn’t want to work in intensive care in the nursery of a hospital….that would be hard…..I mean if I was a nurse…which I’m not.
I would not want to be a dentist. So many mouths…teeth…breath…I remember accidently biting a dentist/orthodontist once…”You’re resting your teeth on my thumb,” he said. Ouch!
I don’t want to be in the medical field too. I can’t handle the pressure of having someone’s life in my hands.
I would not have thought this to be a difficult question to answer but I find it is. Hmmmm, I think I have to go with doing the same thing without a variety of people or situations and I absolutely could not be in a closed up or crowded place.
I would not ever want to go back to being a cleaning lady or housekeeper – whatever you call it, it’s a dirty job that overworks and underpays you.
I wouldn’t mind being a doctor or nurse but I wouldn’t want to be plastic surgery. That just grosses me out. Especially liposuction. Yuck! Yuck! Yuck!
I wouldn’t want to work in construction or anything where I’d have to be outside either in the very hot or very cold temperatures…
I’m with Angelina Jolie. I get bored very easy, so I would NOT want a job doing the same mindless tasks over and over.
I would have to say no to the job of trash collector. Yuck.
This might sound silly but I remember when I was working in this particular building, there was a girl who operated the elevator. That’s all she did each day. I always made it a point to greet her whenever I saw her, thinking it would make a difference. I don’t think I can handle going up and down the elevator countless of times during one day. It would make me crazy.
I’m with you 100%, there is no way that I could work with people that had passed away. I love the CSI shows too, but it is way different to see it on TV, there is no way that I could do what they do.
I agree, i could never do anything medical. Although I guess as a mom, we pretty much do, don’t we?
My husband suggested the other day that I become a midwife and I about fainted.
I would have to say anything in the medical profession. I faint at he sight of my own blood!
Sorry I’m so late!
