Matthew’s First Birthday

Matthew turns 1 year old.

We had a little party for him. After getting ready for the party, took some pictures, we set him up to blow his first birthday candle. Then, my husband let Matthew be the first to have the first taste of his first birthday cake. I was apprehensive about this idea but I let it happen, and I’m glad I did. He seemed like he really enjoyed his cake as much as I really enjoyed watching him.

We took turns opening his presents – toys, clothes, book, plate set, etc. He played with his new toys until it was time for dinner. For dinner, he had carrots and potato - not much of a birthday food but oh well. A few more playing with his new toys then he got fuzzy, then went to sleep in Daddy’s arms.

Special Thanks: Ms. Shinobu for the balloons, Grandparents for most of the gifts!

P.S. I did plan to bake his first birthday cake but changed my mind because the truth is I really don’t know how to bake. If I had (baked), he wouldn’t have enjoyed his cake! Further, I will be adding a link of his birthday video in the very near future for everyone to see.
